What is the Possession Switch?

1. It's a black and white switch that fits into your whistle.
2. It's secured into your whistle with double sided tape.
3. When the switch in the up position, it's white (white represents the home team or team with the lighter jerseys).
4. When the switch is in the down position, it's black (black represents the visiting team or team with the darker jerseys.
5. Each time there is an alternating possession situation, flip the switch!! That's it!!

Ultimately, one of the most important components in officiating is accuracy. I believe the possession switch provides officials with a very effective tool to accurately manage alternating possession. In the future, it is my hope that the possession switch will make all who use it more effective, efficient, and professional Basketball Officials.
